WHERE DOES BOBA TEA COME FROM?
Taiwan are the initial creators of this tasty treat! Available either milky or fruity with tasty ‘toppings’ all sucked up through a fat straw, this is sold in almost every cafe and street vendor.
IS BOBA TEA HEALTHY?
Tempo is determined to break away from the stereotype that Boba Tea is unhealthy!
We're the first Boba Tea cafe in the UK to revise their entire menu to make this happen; None of our teas have added sugar, and all our teas are sweetened with Stevia and Monkfruit, and even add Vitamin C to for a benefit boost.
Your average Fruit Boba Tea contains approx 5g of fruit sugars per 100ml, that's half the amount found in Smoothies and a quarter of what is found in your average milkshake!
The same goes for you calorie counters - A large fruit tea only adds up to 146 calories depending on flavours - with a milk tea up to 290cal for the whole cup.
Tapioca is a classic, filling and sweet traditional treat. If you're looking for a healthier alternative, our Popping Boba balls are light and full of flavour, or try our Aloe Vera Jelly for a natural chew to your tea
Tempo Boba Tea is revised to be the obvious choice for those of you starting 2020 wanting a change! We have created these recipes to be enjoyed with an active and happy lifestyle.
IS BOBA TEA SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
Both Tempo owners grew up on Boba Tea; Fruit and Milk flavours and the natural benefits of Jasmine and Assam tea are great for growing bodies and minds.
WHAT ARE YOUR VEGAN OPTIONS? WHAT IS BOBA MADE OF?
All our fruit teas are completely vegan friendly, with most of our milk teas able to be too!
As for toppings, everything bar our Egg Pudding are free from animal byproducts. Our Jellies are made from coconut pulp - giving them a natural soft chew.
With dietary requirements, we do recommend you ask at the till so we can match your Tempo.
Popping boba look like tapioca boba but instead have juice in them and will pop in your mouth. The skin of this is made from seaweed extract; and completely organic. They are really tasty and a great alternative to tapioca or jellies.
Toppings are completely optional in your drink, enjoy your tea with a chew, a pop, or completely plain!
